ALL ABOARD THE BRID BUS!

Yorkshire Coast BID relaunches its successful free coach service to attract more visitors to Bridlington

This spring will see the return of the Yorkshire Coast BID’s ‘Brid Bus’ initiative, a free coach service to bringing Sheffield residents to the seaside town.

The service – which was set up to help extend the peak season for Bridlington’s tourism businesses – proved hugely successful in getting visitors to the coast last October and received glowing feedback from passengers.

The trial not only helped to generate higher tourism levels in off-peak times, local businesses yielded four-times the return, and 100 per cent of all those who visited said they would return to the East Yorkshire seaside resort.

This year, the Brid Bus will once again travel more than 80 miles across Yorkshire, leaving Sheffield on 30th April, returning on 3rd May. To secure a place on the bus, passengers are asked to show that they’ve booked accommodation in the town for three nights, prior to travel, using the scheme’s registration portal.

Registrations will be open from Tuesday (March 3rd) and close on 22nd March.

Dean Bullen, Bridlington Director of Yorkshire Coast Business Improvement District (BID), said: “We had a fantastic response to this initiative last year, so it made perfect sense to bring it back – and make it bigger and better – for 2020.

“Businesses in seaside resorts are constantly having to think of creative new ways to attract tourists out of the traditional holiday season, in typically quieter months. With the BID’s support, we want to make the Yorkshire Coast a place that is attractive, and easily accessible for people all year round, and show tourists exactly what the region has to offer.”

Places on the Brid Bus are allocated on a first come, first served basis. To register your interest, or to find out more, please visit: https://www.bridbus.co.uk/
