Local housebuilder celebrates National Gardening Week with donation to primary school in Worksop
Local housebuilder, David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West, inspired by National Gardening Week, has donated gardening equipment to Gateford Park Primary School, to encourage and enable the children to make the most of their school’s outdoor space and grow a passion for planting.
Sales Adviser Katy Cushing from nearby development Gateford Park in Worksop, visited the school to gift five colourful gardening kits to a group of children aged between 7 and 11 to celebrate the week, which took place from 30th April – 6th May 2018 and aimed to inspire people of all ages to get involved in gardening.
David Wilson Homes donated gardening equipment kits to local primary schools across the region to encourage children to explore and learn about the beauty and benefits of the great outdoors.
Katy Cushing, Sales Adviser at Gateford Park, commented: “At David Wilson Homes, we believe in taking care of nature and wildlife in the communities in which we build, and we’re very pleased to be able to donate these gardening kits to local schools to inspire the children to go outside and get gardening this spring. We hope the children enjoy the kits and it brings out the gardeners within them!”
Mr Mangham, teacher at Gateford Park Primary School, commented: “The children were thrilled with the lovely gardening equipment and I’m sure the kits will go a long way in helping them develop a love of all things green this year! We’re always keen to encourage the children to play and learn outdoors and we’re grateful to David Wilson Homes for such a fun and useful donation, we can’t wait to head outside and get growing.”
