GTEC Training, a UK-based renewable energy training provider that’s part of the United Living Group, is expanding into the professional services sector.

The company will now offer expert-led nationwide training courses in first aid, mental health awareness, business improvement and management, strengthening its commitment to professional development across the UK.

Having built a strong reputation in specialist and technical training for utilities, GTEC is bringing the same high standards, frameworks, and learner-first approach to a new suite of courses designed for businesses and organisations of all sizes.

Courses will include lean organisation management, first aid for mental and physical health, business improvement techniques, safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, and suicide awareness. While some of the interactive courses will be hosted online, others with more physical requirements will take place at a selection of GTEC’s UK training locations.

“Expanding into professional services training is a natural progression for us,” said Griff Thomas, Managing Director of GTEC Training. “We’ve established a reputation for high-quality technical training, and now we’re applying that same standard to essential workplace training in areas like first aid, mental health, and leadership. It’s about helping businesses invest in their people, which is ultimately their greatest asset. Offering courses in mental health, first aid, and leadership allows us to support teams and employers in creating safer, healthier, and more effective workplaces.”

Established over 15 years ago in West Yorkshire, GTEC Training specialises in upskilling tradespeople to meet the demands of the green revolution, offering a comprehensive range of courses in technologies such as heat pumps, solar photovoltaics (PV), battery storage, solar thermal, biomass, electric vehicle (EV) charging, and energy efficiency, as well as electrical, plumbing, oil and first aid training courses. These courses are delivered at 19 training sites nationwide and led by a team of industry experts.

GTEC Training’s programs lead to industry-recognised qualifications accredited by organisations, including LCL Awards, City & Guilds, and OFTEC. The company’s facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art training rigs, and it offers bespoke on-site training tailored for larger organisations.
