Housebuilder supports local cricket club with new funding initiative

Sales Adviser, Karen Lencki with Chairman of Cullingworth Cricket CLub, George Fletcher

Local housebuilder, David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West, has launched a brand new initiative designed to support the communities in which it builds. The Community Fund will see the housebuilder donate up to £1,000 each month to a community group or cause across the Yorkshire West region. The first group to be chosen to benefit from the new Fund is Cullingworth Cricket Club, which is close to David Wilson’s Hewenden Ridge development in Cullingworth.

The housebuilder has sponsored the club £750 to provide new team shirts for both of the club’s senior teams, with the rest going towards brand new training equipment and the maintenance of current equipment. To celebrate the sponsorship, Karen Lencki, Sales Adviser at the development, visited the club to present them with a cheque.

Karen Lencki, Sales Adviser at Hewenden Ridge commented: “We are delighted to launching the Community Fund across our Yorkshire West division to support the communities around our developments. We can’t wait to see the money go towards new kits and equipment for Cullingworth Cricket club and look forward to cheering the team on at future games!”

Speaking on the donation, George Fletcher, Chairman at Cullingworth Cricket Club, said: “We are extremely grateful to the team at David Wilson for their generation donation. The past couple of years have been quite difficult for us so this has come at an ideal time as we make improvements to keep the team going. We rely on support and donations from the local community so having initiatives in place, like the Community Fund that are there to help local groups is great for us.”

Hewenden Ridge is a friendly development of spacious three and four bedroom homes with stunning views of beautiful Yorkshire countryside. Situated near Bingley, these homes offer an idyllic and peaceful lifestyle as well as a handy range of local amenities, charming local pubs and restaurants close by.
