Leeds Golf Centre celebrates International Women’s Golf Day

Leeds Golf Centre

This June sees Leeds Golf Centre join forces with other golfing clubs and facilities across the globe to celebrate women in golf, on International Women’s Golf Day, June 4th.  This global initiative is dedicated to engaging, empowering and supporting women through golf; encouraging them to learn and enjoy skills that last a lifetime.

Wike-based Leeds Golf Centre near Shadwell and the home of modern golf has an enviable female offering and is well-regarded across the region.  To mark this day, Ellie Robinson – Leeds Golf Centre’s female golf pro and the only female pro within an hour of Leeds, will be offering a range of FREE workshops and taster classes to give guests an introduction to the wonderful world of golf.   Equipment will be provided, and this day is perfect for novices and more experienced golfers alike.

Nigel Sweet, Leeds Golf Centre Manager said: “Golf is a sport enjoyed by millions across the globe.  It offers players so many benefits and we want to encourage as many people as possible from across the region to come out and visit us to find out what all the fuss is about.  Ellie is an incredible pro and makes everyone she works with feel at ease immediately.  We are committed to breaking down any barriers associated with golf to encourage more people of all ages to enjoy the great game.  This promises to be a great day – one not to be missed.  What’s more – there’s plenty of tea and cake available on the day!”

For those golfers who want to practice their game, the par three course will be free to use between 12pm-4pm.  And for those more experienced golfers, the 18-hole championship course can be played for only £10!
