Leopold Square is extending its free live music events in July and August to include Friday evenings, when some of the finest jazz, swing, folk and blues acts will be entertaining visitors.

The Square regular Nicola Farnon’s combination of sparkling jazz vocals and highly accomplished double bass playing is kick-starting the Friday evening programme on 1st July, before the quirky Grumpah entertain visitors with songs from Gershwin to Lady Gaga on Saturday 2nd July. Yorkshire based quartet Vibe-ology cover everything from jazz and blues to Latin and funk, and will be getting visitors dancing on Sunday 3rd July.

Danny Maddocks will be taking people into the weekend with a mixture of blues, jazz and soul on Friday 8th July. Jem Hewitt makes a welcome return to The Square on Saturday 9th July, before Katie Bosworth gets visitors dancing on the terraces on Sunday 10th July.

Emily Claire West, a Leopold Square favourite, takes centre stage on Friday 15th July, and jazz singer and pianist Jeremy Sassoon will be in The Square on Saturday 16th July. Sophie Henderson is welcomed on Sunday 17th July and will be putting her own bright spin on songs from artists such as Erykah Badu, Stevie Wonder and Earth Wind & Fire.

Between Friday 22nd and Sunday 24th July, Leopold Square becomes an official The Fringe at Tramlines venue and will be hosting nine local performers.

July is rounded off with Changing Melody on Friday 29th July, before Rogue return on Saturday 30th July. Blind Pig Gang bring the weekend to a close on Sunday 31st July with a dose of funk and soul.

All live music takes place in Leopold Square between 5pm and 7pm on Friday evenings and between 2pm and 4.30pm on Saturday and Sunday afternoons,
