Local housebuilder, David Wilson Homes Yorkshire East, continues to support the local communities in which it builds, by donating a total of £1,000 as part of its Community Fund scheme to Wilf Ward Trust in Pickering.
Wilf Ward Trust was established in 1986 by married couple Wilf and Phyllis Ward, to help provide opportunities for adults with learning disabilities in the Yorkshire and Humber region. Since launching 34-years ago, the Trust has grown immensely with around 800 staff members offering a large variety of supported living accommodation and residential services in care.
Paul McCay, Chief Executive at Wilf Ward Trust, commented: “We are extremely grateful to David Wilson Homes Yorkshire East, for its donation of £1,000. Here at Wilf Ward Trust, we are committed to inclusion and community engagement, as it’s so important for adults with learning disabilities to feel safe, understood, cared for and believed in. This donation allows the Trust to provide care and support with living accommodations and care services, so this money will make a huge difference.”
Daniel Smith, Managing Director of Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, commented: “We are always looking for ways that we can support the communities in which we build, so we’re thrilled to have been able to support The Wilf Ward Trust with our Community Fund. The service that the Trust offers makes such a huge difference to the lives of those living in the region, and we are really looking forward to supporting more charities and organisations with our Community Fund throughout 2020.”
