Generous volunteers are once again going to be taking to Morrisons stores throughout the country to help raise thousands of pounds for Marie Curie’s Great Daffodil Appeal this week (Monday 9th– Sunday 15th March).
This week, shoppers in the Doncaster store were surprised as Marie Curie ambassador and well-loved comedian, Paul Chuckle gave up a few hours of his time to collect for terminal illness charity Marie Curie, as part of their Great Daffodil appeal bucket collections.
Paul Chuckle said: “Marie Curie supported my brother, and more recently my father-in-law at the end of their lives and I’m grateful that I’m able to get behind the Great Daffodil Appeal and wear my daffodil pin. I hope that everyone comes down to their local Morrisons to buys a daffodil to help Marie Curie continue to support people living with a terminal illness and their families.”
The money raised from the Great Daffodil Appeal will help the Marie Curie nurses provide round the clock specialist care in the local community and at our nine hospices to people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones.
The charity also provides practical information and support via support line and online chat, and funds research and campaigns so that more people to have access to the care they deserve at the end of their lives.
Morrisons have hosted Marie Curie collections during the Great Daffodil Appeal for the last 4 years and have to date raised an amazing £2,151,182.
