With Valentine’s Day soon approaching, many will be looking for the perfect gift to show that special someone how much they care. From beautiful flower bouquets to a fancy meal, love birds across the UK will be marking the most romantic day of the year in style.
But if you’re stuck on what to get your other half this Valentine’s Day, look no further, as you can now apply to have two peas in the same pod named after you and your partner – quite literally becoming two peas in a pod!
For the first time ever, Yes Peas!, the UK campaign devoted to championing frozen peas, is helping Brits show a true gesture of love, by allowing individuals to symbolically name two peas within the same pod – a perfect Valentine’s gift idea for any food lover.
What’s more, individuals who register will receive a digital Valentine’s Day card free of charge to give to that special someone, detailing which of the many pea fields across the UK your peapod will be planted in.
In the UK, peas are generally sown from late February through to July – making now the perfect time to register your names and show your grand gesture.
Clare Reeson, Assistant Manager at the British Growers Association comments: “Here in the UK, we’re 90% self-sufficient in pea production, so it’s no surprise that the average Brit eats around 9,000 peas a year, making us a nation of true pea lovers.
“To bring the nation’s love of frozen peas to life, we want to offer pea enthusiasts across the country the opportunity to take their love for peas to the next level and have their very own named pea pods, quite literally bringing the meaning of two peas in a pod to life!”
